London Bound…when that alarm goes off and all you want to do is hit the snooze but not Today, nope today with a massive coffee in hand I went to my second fitness meet up and it was so much fun….Who am I going with??
Myself! It can be a bit scary at first walking into a tiny(I mean tiny Pret) to find a bunch of amazing girls mainly who I’d never met before. You should never be afraid to go to events by yourself..they are amazing places to meet people who actually get it and are passionate about the same things as you!
Although if you’d have told me at the start of this year I would be going to London alone and meeting people I’d met over the internet I would have said No chance. Going to events and talking to people can be overwhelming at first. Don’t worry we’ve all been there!
I remember the anxiety going to my first ever event in February… I actually nearly did go I was that anxious but it’s opened a world of possibilities. Not everyone will get it and that’s ok, but that doesn’t mean that you can find some amazing people that do get it.
The thing is though if you don’t put yourself out there and go to events or even just talk with someone the chances are you aren’t actually going to make any friends… I used to do because I didn’t have the confidence but like anything the more you do it the easier it becomes.
Yes, people may find it bizarre that you can make friends over the internet but don’t ever let that stop you from doing what you enjoy! If there is an opportunity to go and meet people or join groups GO for it!
Fitness can be isolating but when we all come together it’s a great way to celebrate a shared passion and…..What meet up would be complete though without lots of talking, a workout and of course FOOD! which if your anything like me is always a good shout! You know what happens when lots of instrgramer come together? Friendship, laughter and a cheeky selfie or two, I went not really knowing what to expect or who I would meet but came away with a massive smile on my face…and some new friends!
